Frankfurt has the highest crime-rate in Germany. But the main threat is from pickpockets and muggers. The area around the Hauptbahnhof is well known as a hang-out for junkies. Despite efforts by authorities, this area is still to be avoided. Other places to avoid if walking alone are avoid are Kaiserstrasse (the red light district), the river, and Frankfurterburg. more |
